You know that phone call you really don’t want to receive?
I had one very recently from our friend Stanley Hauerwas, to tell me that he now can’t be at Catalyst Live 2018 in person as he’s unexpectedly having foot surgery in the autumn and won’t be able to travel to be with us. However, he will still be on the bill, as we’ve just filmed a special contribution from him, exclusively for Catalyst Live, and we can’t wait to show it to you in Birmingham and Bristol in November.
What’s more, we’ve added another very significant contributor to this year’s lineup.
Dr Gary V Nelson is not only the President and Vice Chancellor of Tyndale University College and Seminary, the largest graduate school of theology in Canada, but he’s also an exceptional speaker and author, and for some years was General Secretary of Canadian Baptist Ministries. We’re thrilled he’ll be joining us in person and adding to the unique Catalyst Live vibe.
And remember, it’s not just Nelson, Paula Gooder and Hauerwas who will be contributing to the event. Former BMS World Mission General Director Alistair Brown will be with us in Birmingham (if you’ve heard Alistair talk before, you’ll know he’s not to be missed) and he’ll be joined by a host of other brilliant thinkers, speakers and creative minds including Rula Khoury-Mansour, Harry and Chris, Amy Orr-Ewing, Adrian Snell, David Bebbington and Anne Wafula-Strike, amongst many others!
More than half of all Catalyst Live 2018 tickets are already sold – please get yours soon, and we’ll see you in November!
Yours in Christ,
Mark Craig
Director of Communications
PS - Please keep Stanley Hauerwas in your prayers as he faces surgery. He really wanted to be at Catalyst Live in person and sends his best wishes and blessings to you all. I encourage you to head to our news section below to hear a special message from Professor Hauerwas that he recorded just for you.
